Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, will not have Christian Pulisic available for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup tie against Aston Villa.
According to the German, the game will come too soon for Pulisic, who is recovering from an ankle problem.
The 23-year-old picked up the injury during USA’s 4-1 win over Honduras.
Since then, Pulisic has missed Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League and Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
Tuchel said: “I think for Christian the game against Villa is maybe a bit too close. I hope I’m wrong but this is my impression.

“He’s not in training so far but let’s see tomorrow. Maybe if he had a good progression today, it’s possible. It would be super nice for us to have him but for me, it’s a bit doubtful.”
The Blues face Villa in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, before taking on league champions Manchester City on Saturday.
