On a sad note, the indigenes of Edo State, Nigeria, has called the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, the failed governor over not fulfilled promises he made before he won the gubernatorial election in 2016.
Recently on Twitter, #ObasekiTheFailedGovernor trend, which has prompted many citizens and non-indigenes of the state to interfere.
According to the tweets, it was said that Obaseki has successfully failed to meet the standard of governance delivery expected by the people of Edo State.
However, with state of things, the people of Edo State have made U-turn against their governor, Obaseki.
Nevertheless, many viewed that not only Obaseki is victim to not fulfil promises as virtually all governors or better to say, but all the politicians in the country are also mouth makers, who are professionals in eyes and lips services.
Following the promises made by Obadeki was the provision of over 200,000 job employments, the building of Gelegele Sea Ports and many more. However, the report gathered that Obaseki has maligned and desecrated the moral fibre of the state he was entrusted with.
Recall that Godwin Obasaki was sworn in as Edo State governor on November 12th, 2016.
Obadeki was born on July 1st, 1957 in Benin City, a Nigerian businessman and politician.
Relatively, Obadeki was the Chairman of Edo State Economic and Strategy Team in 2009 that came into existence by the former state governor, Adams Oshiomole.
It is no longer news that Obadeki and Oshiomole have clashed since Obaseki became the governor and Oshiomole became former governor and National Chairman of Action Progressive Congress (APC).
In the news obtained by Daily News Nigeria, it was said that Oshiomole refused to be controlled by Obaseki, the governor, as he is the National Chairman of the same political party, APC, they belong to.
However, Oshiomole has been removed as the party chairman ever since the fight started.
Following reasons why Obaseki has been called failed governor, many seek for clarification over many damage things in the state.
Obviously, the people of Edo State are against Obaseki’s regime as another election is fourth coming.
“However, the progress of the state lies in the hands of the people of Edo State in the next election”, some injected their opinions.
