Suspected Fulani militias on Tuesday killed two persons in Ancha village, Miango District in Irigwe Chiefdom, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The two persons killed are Daniel James (32) and Zakwe Deba (35).

Irigwe Development Association (IDA) National Publicity Secretary, Davidson Malison explained that the deceased were ambushed and killed on their farm.

He confirmed that he has intimated the Bassa Divisional Police Officer (DPO) on the incident, saying that the DPO assured of his prompt action.

The National Publicity Secretary lamented, “The entire Rigwe nation is saddened by this unfortunate development and call for more proactive measures by security personnel and government in ending this bloodletting in the land.”

He expressed dismay that these atrocities being committed by Fulani militia have had gross negative effects on the people and must be stopped.

ASP Ubah Gabriel, the spokesman of the state Command who confirmed the attack, explained that policemen have been drafted to the scene of the attack to restore normalcy.
