Recently on social media platforms, fans and lovers of Nollywood have fought over who should be crowned the best Nollywood actor and actress.
Following the trend, names were picked randomly as Nollywood is segmented into Yoruba and English. However, actors and actresses mentioned are Genevieve Nnaji, Mercy Johnson, Ibrahim Chatta, Adesua Etomi, Ransey Nouah and among others.
Meanwhile, what triggered the trend is the movie titled ‘Sugar Rush’ recently showing on Netflix as fans started comparison of Adesua Etomi’s acting skill with Mercy Johnson and Genevieve Nnaji, noted that Adesua is great but doesn’t act great.
“I watched Sugar Rush when it hit the cinema, and I didn’t find Adesua Etomi’s acting underwhelming as some have observed. She’s your everyday Nollywood actress, nothing spectacular but commendable. It’s too soon to judge her fairly because we haven’t seen the extent of her range”, the tweet stated.
Moreover, this led to general comparison as who should be the best actor and actress argument hit social media.
Thousands of fans and Twitter users have fired back the comparison of Adesua and Genevieve with the say that Adesua is a beautiful woman and a good Actress but comparing her to Genevieve, is disrespectful, added that Its like comparing Burna to Fela.
Social media became hotter as fans fought for their best favourite actor and actress.
