Former Senator of Kogi State Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, has hoped to be declared soon after the petition filed against Senator Smart Adeyemi as the winner in the last re-run Senatorial seat election conducted.

“Today at the Kogi West election tribunal with my lead lawyer Prof. Wahab Egbewole. (SAN) We adopted addresses and Judgment reserved.

“I am blessed and highly favoured, I experience the grace of greater power”, Dino claimed.

Recall that Senator Smart Adeyemi was declared the winner as the Senator of Kogi State Senatorial District by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after the re-run election conducted on 16th and 30th November 2019.

However, the opposite candidate, Dino Melaye, has challenged the results and sought for readdressing.

In a statement said by Dino on his social media page, he said in every season of life whether celebration or mourning, wrestling or rejoicing, questioning or trusting, we can hold fast to hope.

“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts”, Dino stated.

Meanwhile, Dino’s lawyer, Professor Egbewole, has requested the court to consider Dino Melaye’s address and declare a winner based on the evidence that he had the highest lawful vote with 49,649 casted votes against Smart Adeyemi who had 43,543 votes.

However, the court has reserved the judgment after heard the adopted addresses, noted that the counsel involved will be communicated soon.

Following reactions, many injected that Dino Melaye should let go of the position as he can’t win over Smart Adeyemi, who is already has been declared and known as Senator since the election was conducted

Contrary, some advised pushing further until he won the victory.

Obviously, the situation is far from the end as Dino Melaye assured his people that he’s coming back.
