Please, don’t go, UK won’t pay Hazard allowance, Health Minister warns Doctors

The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, has pleaded and warned some Nigerian Doctors, who were set to relocate to United Kingdom.

Speaking recently at a brief meeting of the Presidential Covid-19 Task Force, Dr. Osagie said as at June, 2020 Nigerian Doctors are collecting 5,000 naira as their monthly Hazard allowance, however, he noted that UK won’t pay a dime.

“I think Nigeria is one of the few countries paying Hazard allowance, UK won’t give you any allowance except salary”, he stated.

According to research, Hazard allowance is a pay earned by the employees, who work under hazardous conditions or extraordinary physical discomfort.

Following the reports gathered, about 58 Doctors ought to have travelled last week but were stopped at Muritala Muhammed International Airport due to lack of visas.

Daily News Nigeria thereby obtained that the Doctors received provisional employment from UK.
