The former governor of Edo State, National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomole, has surprisingly supported the new APC candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, for the party Primary election.
According to reports gathered, it was said that before now, Oshiomole has once against Ize-Iyamu to be part of Edo government, however, he’s presently supporting him for Obaseki’s gubernatorial defeat.

Recall that Ize-Iyamu has been endorsed and picked by some of the party (APC), believed to be loyal to Oshiomhole to contest the governorship seat with Godwin Obaseki at the party Primary election on June 22nd.
Response to the second candidate picked the party, Obaseki never relented as has said that he is very confident and certain he will continue to rule the people of Edo State.
“God gave me power and if he wants me to continue, I will definitely continue. No man can stop me. Power comes from God.
“I am not a violent person but I am confident that the way I got into power is the same way I will return”, Obaseki broke the silence.
Following Obaseki’s reaction, he said he has always supported peace and believes election should not lead to bloodshed.
However, Nigerians have voiced out that Oshiomole is obviously playing politics with the latest development of Edo State as he’s supporting Ize-Iyamu, who he has bad-mouthed before now that he’s not capable to handle the state’s treasury.
Nevertheless, few injected that Obaseki isn’t a bad governor, saying he has performed better than Oshiomhole.
Recap that Oshiomhole blasted Ize-Iyamu for his bad record, according to him.
“I did not appoint Ize-Iyamu because of his past record. I would not be comfortable to put government money in his hand. That is why I kept him completely out of government. I did not even give him a board appointment. He was part of the government that looted the Edo State”, Oshiomhole stated.
Meanwhile, sources told Daily News Nigeria that the All Progressive Congress had agreed to support any aspirant, who will win to stop the second tenure of Godwin Obaseki.
However, some advised Oshiomhole to forget about politics if Obaseki should win the forthcoming election.
