The Covid-19 Presidential Task Force has lifted the ban on Religion places, noted that worship places can thereby re-open, however, Nigerians criticized the decision for schools exemption as it makes no difference.
“How can you reopen Churches and Mosques but exempt Schools? Over 10,000 confirmed cases already, you still went ahead to make senseless decisions. The Presidential Task Force and Buhari are Clueless”, the tweets criticized.
Recap that restrictions were placed on businesses, schools and worship place on 31st of March over the Coronavirus.
Speaking on the re-opening of worship places, the Chairman of Covid-19 Presidential Task Force, Boss Mustapha, made the announcement recently, noted that schools and interstate travelling are still on lockdown.
However, a nationwide curfew from 8 pm to 6 am has been shifted from 10 pm to 4 pm.
Nevertheless, Nigerians jubilated, most particularly the worshipers as many assumed that activities are returning back to normal except schools that are still lockdown.
Following reactions, Nigerians opinionated that the Federal Government is rushing into decision making.
“We don’t think it’s time to open churches and mosques yet as Figures are rising daily even with them closed. So what should we be expecting after opening?”, the tweets ranted.
Meanwhile, the Presidential Task Force added that social distancing is still encouraged as nose mask, a wash of hands frequently and hand sanitizer should be used to curb the spread of Covid-19.
