Following an update on Corona Virus pandemic, a popular Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham, has recommended ways to stay safe and save lives from contacting the virus and curtail the spread.
Toyin recently made this known via a video in partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and in replacement of Funke Akindele, the former Ambassador of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
In her recommendation, she said that it’s obvious that many of us are terrified by the Corona Virus and misinformation on how to stay safe is not helping us much and we are wondering how we can guarantee the health of the ones around us and ourselves, however, there are many recommended ways to staying safe during this time of Covid-19.
“My name is Toyin Abraham, I wash my hands as many times as possible with water and soap for few minutes as it is very important because 80% of communicable disease is transferred by touch, nevertheless, be safe for others”, she stated.
To recall that Funke Akindele has done this format of the video on behalf of the same organization, NCDC, as the Ambassador, but unfortunately removed, due to her violation of rules put in place to fight the pandemic, which was the house party she held in the initial lockdown with over 20 attendees, however, she was arrested, charged to court and judged by Fine payment of N100, 000, 14 days Community Service plus isolation.
Toyin Abraham, popularly called Mummy Ire, was born Olutoyin Aimakhu on September 5, 1980, a Nigerian film actress, filmmaker, director and producer.
Following reactions of Toyin’s recommendation video, many fans and lovers of the movie have said that for others’ life to be good and better, some lives have to come down, this can be referred to as the incident that happened to Funke Akindele and how Toyin Abraham could be privileged and replaced.
On the other hand, many congratulated Toyin for the great opportunity as some said she’s a good replacement, however, jokingly warned her not to hold house party and nevertheless, many wished her success in the new journey.
