It is no longer news that fresh lockdown is likely to commence if COVID-19 cases keep increasing due to the fact that many Nigerians have violated the measures in place to curb the spread and get rid of the virus.
However, Ike, one of the Big Brother Naija ex-housemates, disclosed recently that he’s tired looking for new places to take pictures in his house.
Recall that a 5-week lockdown, which started 30th of March and ended May 2nd in Abuja, Lagos and Ogun States as other states observed curfew was lifted on May 4.
According to Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari, he noted in his addresses to Nigerians that the main purpose of the lockdown is obviously to eradicate the deadly virus that has taken thousands of lives globally and hundreds of lives in the country.
However, His excellency also noted that the ease of the lockdown is to boost and foster the country’s economy as it has drastically dropped and many fellow Nigerians that cried out for feeding supports as palliatives shared at Federal, State and Local level is insufficient.
Following reports since ease of the lockdown, the government has warned Nigerians to follow all order and measures to reduce the spread and to aid activities back to normal in the country.
Just recently on social media, #NoLagosLockdown trends. Indirectly alerted the government to not impose fresh lockdown as many complaints the difficulties faced before it was lifted.
Many lamented that Lagos State needs no extended lockdown, however, what the state needs are to flourish and prosper even in the midst of the pandemic and adhere to safety practices that will help curb the spread. we say NO to an extended lockdown.
“What annoys most is that the people who want the lockdown to continue, they themselves are not on lockdown, which doesn’t make sense. We have had enough of this so-called lockdown. We can stop this together #NoLagosLockDown”, the tweets stated.
While many lamented “We don’t know why you all are rooting for #NoLagosLockDown as we know times are hard but is it safe out they? We are risking our lives and you are shouting no lockdown in Lagos. Please do you have the vaccine in case people contact it as we can administer it to them”?
