Recently, the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has declared that the state government will provide free medical services to pregnant women and others with urgent health needs throughout the April month.
“The Lagos state government will take full responsibility of cases like Maternity, casualties, surgeries, laboratory tests, etc in the month of April”, he added.
According to Sanwo-Olu, who declared lockdown in the state from March 30th, also added that this act is targeting to cushion the harsh effects of the imposed 2-week lockdown following the outbreak and spread of COVID-19.
So far, the Lagos state has recorded about 108 cases, which is the highest cases Nigeria has recorded in a state. However, attempts are made to curb the continuous spread of the infectious virus.
The Federal and State governments are doing everything in their power to make sure that things don’t get out of hands as together, we will overcome the battle against COVID-19.
