… Buhari appoints 75-year old man, Nigerians murmur
The President, Muhammadu Buhari, has recently appointed a 75-year old man, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, as the new Nigeria Chief of Staff.
Gambari, the 75-year old man is formerly the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations for the Department of Political Affairs (DPA).
Recall that Abba Kyari, the closest friend to the president and former Chief of Staff died of Covid-19 virus in April.
According to reports, his death moved the president emotionally as he disclosed that he lost his best friend.
In details, the new COS, Gambari, was born November 24, 1944, in Kwara State, Nigeria. He’s Nigerian scholar and diplomat, Minister for External Affairs between 1984 to 1985 and in May 2013, he was named as the pioneer Chancellor of Kwara State University.
In addition, Gambari is also the co-chairman of the Albright-Gambari Commission.
Following Nigerians reactions, many voiced out that the biggest lie ever told is that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow.
Similarly, some viewed that Buhari provided that old friends are better than new ones as he has chosen another old friend.
On the other hand, few advised Gambari to get the job done with all diligence and honesty irrespective of the age as they don’t care about the old age.
“Do the right thing, effect a positive change”, the tweets stated.
