Celebrities across Entertainment Industry in Lagos State jubilate as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu suspended the State Film Director, Bamidele Balogun, over the compulsory 5% levy.
Recall that yesterday, Friday, Daily News Nigeria reported that content creators in Lagos State should pay immediate 5% levy on audio and visual contents sold, distributed, marketed, shared or downloaded via digital or visual platforms.
According to the statement released by Sanwo-Olu, ‘There is no levy imposed on audio and visual contents of all physical and digital platforms in Lagos State.
“The Film Director, Bamidele Balogun, wasn’t authorised to make such an announcement as he has been suspended, pending administrative enquiry.
Jokingly, many reacted as they rhetorically asked, “When will they suspend those that increased fuel, electricity and DSTV prices”.
