It’s senseless for First Class graduates to hunt for job, says KWASU VC

Mohammed Akanbi, Kwara State University (KWASU) Vice Chancellor, has said that it is senseless for every First Class graduates be job hunters.

Added that it’s an insult to the personality of the graduates to finish school with such highest Grade Point and Universities couldn’t afford to provide job enabling skills.

Mohammed Akanbi said these at a management meeting in provision for the school support.
“Already, we urged our students to engage in different entrepreneur skills a d consider all certificates important.

“You see, it doesn’t make any sense for First Class graduates to finish and look for job”, he mentioned.
He however stressed that he meant any First Class graduates in any programme.

According to him, “We do encourage our KWASU student to be skilled in one way or the other because KWASU is a University of Community development and entrepreneurship.

“We have Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship Centres for students to be trained and practice and not just only theory aspect “, he stated.

Daily News Nigeria has gathered that millions of Nigerians graduates are currently jobless.
Following reactions, many suggested that First Class graduates should be automatically retained in their schools rather than sent out to street.

While some added that Nigeria can’t enough work.
