The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has vowed to identify and deal with those enforcing the Monday sit-at-home in the South East.

The development has crippled economy in the region as banks, shops and other organizations remain shut on Mondays over fear of attack.

Following the re-arrest and detention of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by the Department of State Services (DSS), DSS, IPOB had issued a sit-at-home order on Monday to residents of the region, till Kanu is released.

However, the group later changed it’s mind due pressure, adding that the order would now be observed only on the day Kanu is appearing in the court to continue his trial.

Unfortunately, some elements have continued to enforce the sit-at-home order by attacking and killing violators, the latest being yesterday’s violent dispersal of innocent children, who had gathered to write their West African School Certificate Examination.

The children were accused of violating the sit-at-home order to write their English Language examination.

The sit-at-home order had been widely condemned be sure of it’s ruinous effect on the economy of the nation.

Governor Willie obiano of Anambra State on Monday, led members of the state executive council to banks and markets at the state capital in protest against the order.

However, IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful on Tuesday, said anyone caught enforcing the order contrary to its cancellation henceforth, would be dealt with.

“We said it in the beginning (sit-at-home), but we stopped it, we have told people to stop sitting at home on Mondays,” Powerful said.

“Anyone doing anything to the contrary, forcing people to sit-at-home on Mondays, or doing anything to them because they are not sitting at home on Mondays, if IPOB get such people, no matter who the person is, we will cut off his ears, IPOB is not clan meeting, it is a revolutionary movement fighting for the Republic of Biafra,” he warned.
