The National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has finally announced its approval for electricity price to be increased starting from today, September 1st.
Daily News Nigeria gathered that the increase depends on the high supply of electricity available to customers.
Recall that the increase in the electricity price was slated July 1st to be implemented before the National Assembly stopped it and attempted to shift the implementation to 2021 due to the economic state of the country.
However, the NERC arrived to the conclusion that customers with 12hours power supply daily will be taxed to pay the increased price from September 1st to January 1st 2021 as analysis was done for residents in Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna and among others.
