In a bid to remember the reason why Christians claimed to be Born Again, Pope Francis, a Pentecostal, has said that humanity is one as no one is saved alone.
“We need the Holy Spirit to give us new eyes, to open our minds and our hearts to face the present moment and the future having learned this lesson: That humanity is one. No one is saved alone”, he said.
Following the remembrance of the Holy Day, also known as Whitsun and birth of the Pentecostal Church, Pope Francis added that The Holy Spirit makes us take flight, opens up the wonderful destiny for which we were born, and nourishes us with living hope.
“Let us ask Him to come to us, and He will draw near, when we invite Him into our wounds, anoints our painful memories with the balm of hope, because the Spirit restores hope”, he stated.
Backing it with Bible references in the book of Roman 8vs11 “God raised Jesus to life. God’s Holy Spirit now lives in you, God will raise you to life by His Holy Spirit”.
Speaking on Faith, he said it provides us with a realistic and creative imagination, capable of abandoning the logic of repetition, of substitution or of preservation, it invites us to initiate a season that is always new ‘the season of the Lord’.
“From humanity’s great trials, among which is the pandemic, we come out better or worse. We will not be the same. And that is why we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit today so that He might change our hearts and help us to come out better.
“Come, Holy Spirit: you are harmony; make us builders of unity. You always give yourself; grant us the courage to go out of ourselves, to love and help each other, in order to become one family. Amen”, Pope Francis prayed.
In regard to reactions, many celebrate the day with the say that when one comes under the influence of the Holy Spirit, one develops a completely different set of character traits. However, one virtually change into a different person.
