On Saturday, December 26, 2020, Suwaiba Naziru, 22, mother of one and heavily pregnant, was abducted from her village in Biya Ki Kwana of Batsari Local Government Area, Katsina State, alongside her two-year-old toddler.
Bandits had raided the village at about 8 pm, shot and injured two young men and abducted 10 women and girls.
After marching all night through the forest at gunpoint, Suwaiba delivered a baby girl in the forest as the kidnappers watched.
A relative of the victim told reporters that the gunmen phoned her family to break the news and demanded a well-fitted motorcycle with a full tank to go fetch the nursing mother at Sabon Garin Dumburawa.

“That demand was suspicious as the person who was to go was afraid that the bandits could hold him in place of the woman or hold the motorcycle as ransom and so declined”.
When the gunmen called again to find out if anyone was on the way to pick the woman, they were told that the motorcycle was not ready yet.
So, they decided to move the nursing mother to Dangeza village from where she was conveyed to her home town by another motorcycle.
