The Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos has finally billed Funke Akindele and her husband to pay a fine of N100,000 and charged to involve in community service for 14 days
However, be kept in isolation, a place to be determined by the Lagos State government for violating the social distancing lockdown order.
It has been earlier recalled that Akindele and her husband Abdulrasheed organised a get-together house party as it was 100 per cent against the rules of the social distancing lockdown ordered by the Federal Government to curtail the spread of Corona Virus outraging all over the world.
Similarly, the two of them were arrested on Sunday night for disobeying the rules laid by the government, in which it is expected to face the consequences of their actions.
To flashback that the CEO of Amen Estate, Babatunde Gbadamosi, where the Bello’s family reside in Lagos State, Nigeria, has apologized for attending the house party.
” My name is Babatunde Gbadamosi and I apologize for the event that happened at the Bello’s resident over the weekend at Amen Estate. We went to greet the family with the belief that we were going to meet the family and their staff in the house but after an hour of our visitation, a celebrity arrived with a number of people with him”.
“Perhaps, we should have left, however, I consider that as lapse judgement on my side and I apologize, but that should not say that I detract in any way of the social distancing policies that have been put in place by the health authorities around the world, I subscribed fully to it and please continue to observe social distancing as a means from preventing the Corona Virus spreading in Nigeria”.
However, do note that every attendee at the party is resident of Gbadamosi close, not just Amen Estate. Once again, I sincerely apologize for what happened. Thank you so much for the patient and care. We are all safe and we will continue to be safe. Amen”, he said.
In reaction to the court judgment, many said, “Wow, interesting. Next time they won’t flout the instructions of the government. If you don’t do a party, you won’t die now”, Joshua Olagundoye wrote.
“If it was an ordinary commoner, would have been severe guessed they had people in their plea”, Adika Blessing lamented.
@Peace Ghene, “I think this is the best punishment, not because she’s actually a celebrity but because she realised her mistake, apologised and pleaded guilty. Fine alone won’t be apt and being remanded in prison is uncalled for. #Myviews”.
Nevertheless, The verdict is out N100,000.00 fine and two weeks community services. Each person shall be made to visit 10 important places in Lagos in order to educate people on the need to comply with the rules.
They are hereby mandated to provide the names and phone numbers of every attendee within 24 hours.
All in all, they were admonished to be law-abiding citizens of the state and to their country.
