A fire outbreak has destroyed 16 rooms dormitory at the Kano State College of Nursing and Midwifery.
A student at the school, Khadija Muhammad said the fire started during the Muslim evening prayer at about 6.20 pm on Wednesday on the third floor of Sa’idu Fagge hostel
Solacebase reports that according to her, the fire started from a toilet and spread to the rooms as it destroyed 16 rooms.
She explained that the fire raged for over one hour before the arrival of the Kano fire servicemen who subsequently extinguish the fire.
Khadija Muhammad explained that the fire raged for that long as cooking gas in some of the rooms exploded during the inferno.
Solacebase later contacted Kano State Fire Service Spokesman, Sai’ du Muhammad who also confirmed the inferno noting that they are still investigating the course of the fire and extent of the damage.
