The Federal government of Nigeria has finally announced May 4th, 2020, Monday, for all University and Polytechnic in Nigeria to resume.
All things been equal and based on what happens in the battle against coronavirus, in a month time, schools should resume.
We may recall that the permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Mr Sonny Echono on behalf of the Education Minister, Adamu Adamu, directed all 104 unity schools in the country should close on or before 26th of March, 2020 for a month then, as a measure to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
According to the order, it’s been a hard decision, but it is one of the ways to reduce the spread as well as prevent the students and staffs from being infected. In the development, students and pupils were advised to stay off unnecessary gathering for the main time.
However, all University and Polytechnic schools anticipate resuming on Monday, 4th May 2020.
In reaction, many doubted if the resumption date will be exact as Lagos State government has informed the Lagosians that there is the probability for the lockdown to extend, depending on the status of the Corona Virus pandemic status.
While on the other hand, some embraced the resumption date to come to reality as they pray and hope for the pandemic battle to end.
