Recently, Zimbabwe government has stopped schools from expelling pregnant girls.

According to news gathered, the main aim is to eradicate gender inequality among their mates and reason for them not to drop out of school.

Added that the legal amendment of 1999 constitution has been reinforced. However, it was stated that the decision was made to avoid thousands of pregnant girls planning not to resume schools after COVID-19 lockdown.

Relatively, the high rate of sexual abuse and unwanted pregnancies which occurred during COVID-19 lockdown also led to the decision.

The Education Minister, Cain Mathema, thereby said that parents and guardians should assist all children to be educated.

“Every child, either boy or girl has the right to be educated”, she stated.

Following reactions, social media users commented Zimbabwe for the step taken to make sure all children in the country, especially the females be educated.
