Lagos residents have cried out for help just 3days after the lockdown imposed by the Federal Government, it as really affected them, lamenting the lacking of money to continue their daily upkeep. With some saying they have gotten information from social media that the government is sharing money and relief package, they are yet to receive them. According to the youths in Ikorodu Local government I spoke with on Vanguardlive yesterday, the little money with they said have been spent within the few days of the lockdown and begged the government to provide succour for them as the other countries do.

Fatai, one of the youths that spoke, said, “They said we should not steal, we stopped. We started another means when there is no employment, yahoo., SARS is pursuing us. We are at home now. What do we do? They should do something because we can not stay long at home. Do they want to kill us before Coronavirus? We have hunger virus already”. He added
Speaking with Mr kunle Adebanjo who I saw sharing foodstuffs to the youths in the community, he said before the COVID-19 pandemic there was hunger in the country and most of the youths on the streets are graduate without jobs and can hardly feed themselves. Seeing that the country is challenged by Coronavirus and it will further put the youths in a tight corner., I decided to do this little by giving out and encourage people who see my kind gesture to do the same. If we do this, we are doing ourselves good because if not, very soon they will begin to burgle people houses and perpetrate evils to us and our children we thought we are protecting. Though the lockdown is biting hard, it is important the govt do more sensitisation so citizens can understand how important it is to stay home if one must really stay safe in the face of raging COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world.
