Following the update of COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on citizens, one of the most used social media platforms, Instagram, has multiplied stickers for local businesses to boom and offer gift cards and deliveries.
News gathered by Daily News Nigeria recently is that the social media platform is making it easier for individuals and companies with businesses to make fast profit sales in this season of coronavirus pandemic.
“Small businesses can add stickers to their profiles and stories to make it easier for customers to order foods, gift cards and other valuable services.
“When you use Instagram, you can tap the sticker to make a purchase through the business’s site. This feature will be available in the US and Canada on Wednesday and will roll out globally in the coming weeks, according to an Instagram blog post. Fundraisers are coming soon, the post said it will open Facebook (which owns Instagram) to the page of personal fundraisers created by business owners or their supporters”, the post stated.
The update stressed that for many businesses to boom, more work will be done on the features to make it easier to support the small businesses.
Many users and business owners have reacted to the upgrade as it was commended and hope for more easy access to reach out to customers and clients.
According to history, Instagram is an American photo and videos sharing social networking service owned by Facebook, Inc.
It was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, and launched in October 2010 on iOS. A version for Android devices was released in April 2012, followed by a feature-limited website interface in November 2012, a Fire OS app on June 15, 2014 and an app for Windows 10 tablets and computers in October 2016.
The app hereby allows users to upload photos and videos, which can be edited with filters and organized with tags and location information. Posts can be shared publicly or with pre-approved followers. Users can browse other users’ content by harshtags, tags and locations, and view trending content. Users can like photos and follow other users to add their content to a feed.
