Celebrities cry out over 5% levy on audio, visual contents in Lagos State

Celebrities from Entertainment Industry has cried out over the new levy imposed on audio and visual contents.

Following the reports, it was obtained that Lagos State government has imposed and implemented a compulsory 5 percent levy on audio and visual contents via digital or physical platforms.

One of the Music Stars, Actor and Rapper, Falz, has described the Press Release as joke.

He wrote, “What! Is this joke?

In the Notice released to the Managing Director of Iroko TV, its was stated that Lagos State government requested for immediate payment of 5% on all audio and visual contents sold, distributed, marketed, exhibited, streamed, downloaded or shared across either digital or physical platforms.

In reaction to this, many commented on social media, injected that very soon, the Federal government will implement fee on Nigerians’ breathing.

“We haven’t seen anything yet in this country, very soon they will soon collect money for the air we breathe in.

“Nigeria is finished”, comments read.
