The Academic of Staff Union of Universities ASUU, has challenged Federal government to meet their demands or else, Varsities won’t open.
Following the latest, Daily News Nigeria gathered that ASUU is set to unveil new agenda but yet to disclose it.
Speaking at the a meeting recently, the ASUU National President, Professor Abiodun Ogunyemi, made it know that the Association has new agenda in place but won’t be disclosed until the Federal government meet with the agreement signed by both parties in 2009.
Professor Ogunyemi expressed the extent at which the condition of country’s Universities are bad.
“There is a deliberate attempt to kill University Education in this country.
“Imagine, University using stoves and buckets to fetch water for their experiment in their laboratories”, he stated.
In same vein, he added that because of the inability and inadequate facilities to improve the school environments and plans in place for children from poor backgrounds led many students into fraud and other criminal activities.
“Check the social media, you will see them celebrating their children, who studied and graduated from foreign Universities, which is why they can’t invest into their own country’s Universities”, he painfully submitted.
