The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has cried out for total freedom from Nigeria amidst COVID-19 pandemic. The war of words between the Nigerian government and the Biafra people is becoming messier and hotter as they continue to agitate for total freedom.
Recently on social media, Biafra exit trends, which to tell the Federal government that enough is enough, they want to be separated. Truthfully, the agitation is far from ending.
Recall that the group leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu and the leader of Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike, had clashed with the exchange of message over the presentation of Biafran case to the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) in the Netherlands, with the claim that the move was ridiculous as many Igbo groups have taken Biafra to the United Nations (UN).
However, the accusation led the national Director of Information of MASSOB, Sunny Okoroafor, to mock Kanu as he’s not qualified to talk against Uwazuruike’s movement over Biafra issue.
Relatively, the anger became stronger as he wrote to Kanu that he has no guts to interfere into Biafra matters where Uwazuruike speaks.
“Where was Nnamdi Kanu when Chief Ralph Uwazuruike started the struggle for Biafra? One thing is clear; Uwazuruike was the first man in this new struggle to hoist Biafra flag in the international arena”, he added.
In reaction to the trend on social media, many IPOB followers supported with the say that ordinarily they don’t see anything wrong in the Igbo agitation for an Independent Biafra State but the leaders should ensure to use legal approaches to achieve the goals.
Similarly, many advised the IPOB group agitators to take it up with the AU, Ecowas, UN. Follow the due process, present facts and reasons for separation as it’s not about chanting and ranting.
“I am an Igbo lady but I insist the right thing should be done. Has any case been filed at the UN or Ecowas? Just asking”, the tweet stated.
Contrary to the agitation, many opinionated that the cry and clamour won’t help their freedom neither their case presentation to the United Nations, Ecowas and among others will finalize their separation from Nigeria. Knowing fully that the leaders are not united to fight freedom.
