Following Unilag story of the removal of Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the former Vice-Chancellor. The Pro-Chancellor, Professor Wale Babalakin, has broken silence that due process was followed before his removal.
In the statement he released recently, he said anyone against his removal must have been benefiting from his acts of corruption while in power as the Vice-Chancellor.
According to Pro-Chancellor, he said Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe left before his removal.
“In law, he has resigned before his removal, because he challenged his employers and still in their employment.
“In such case, he left already before he was even removed”, he stated.
Relatively, he said the confusion remains that many people do not know how governing council operates.
“There was full compliance of the law in the removal of Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe”, he mentioned.
Meanwhile, earlier after his removal, he and some of the institution staff disapproved and questioned the removal processes as he has however reported his removal case to court.
Daily News Nigeria recalled that Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe came into power as UNILAG Vice-Chancellor in November 2017 as he has been removed after two years on Wednesday, August 12.
